Video chat costs and coins: what to check before you start

Separate downloads from paid features

Installing or joining a video chat service is different from paying for calls and gifts. Hopy video calls and gifts may require paid coins. Do not assume a feature is free because a search result uses that word; check the current price on the feature screen.

Three checks before a call

1. Read the displayed coin charge and billing unit. If it is unclear whether a charge is per call or time-based, ask before starting.
2. Check your available coin balance after signing in, rather than the amount you intend to purchase.
3. Decide your spending limit and when to end the conversation.

Prices can vary by feature, person, product or promotion. This guide does not quote a fixed Hopy price; use the current screen as your reference.

Compare coin packages

Divide the final payment amount by the number of coins actually delivered. A hypothetical package of 1,000 coins for 10,000 KRW would cost 10 KRW per coin. This is a calculation example, not a Hopy offer. Check any bonus conditions or usage restrictions.

For a time-based rate, multiply the displayed rate by your planned duration to estimate usage. Minimum billing increments or additional charges may change the total, so read the terms shown before starting.

Gifts are a separate decision

A gift may cost coins separately from the call. Check its coin amount and recipient before sending. Do not transfer money to an external account or share a payment verification code because another person asks you to.

Keep payment records

If a purchase does not appear immediately, check your balance and payment history before paying again. For support, record the order reference, payment time, payment channel and error. Never send a full card number, password or one-time code.

Refund eligibility depends on the product, use, payment channel and applicable policy. Read the current Hopy payment and refund policy. You can explore Hopy and check coin products in the shop after signing in.
